Mozilla Thunderbird

Mozilla Thunderbird iconThunderbird is a free, open source e-mail client from Mozilla, the makers of the popular web browser Firefox. Like other Mozilla products, Thunderbird sells itself on being safe, fast, customizable, and feature-rich.

Like its partner in crime Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird prides itself on being a secure program, able to stand up against the constant barrage of threats that make their way around the Internet. Thunderbird can encrypt e-mail, detect many “phishing” attempts to scam your personal information, and includes a spam filter to detect unwanted e-mails.

Thunderbird features an “add-on system” that allows programmers to extend its functionality through “extensions”. Thunderbird extensions are available at the Thunderbird Add-ons Site.
