How it works
You package up and mail your photos, negatives, and slides to Scan Digital’s location in Los Angeles, CA. Within 7 days, Scan Digital will have your images digitized and available on the Web. And when they send back your originals, they will include the digital files on CD or DVD.

Having digital copies affords two huge benefits:
- Digital files are easier to share than physical photos. Post them on the Web, e-mail them, and let others make prints with barely the lift of a finger.
- Digital files add a level of security. Once scanned, you have two copies of your photos. Copy them to your computer, and you have a third copy. Included with every Scan Digital order is a free web gallery with unlimited space. Scan Digital will upload all of your photos to the web at the time of scanning, and you can use this gallery to show your photos off to family and friends.
In addition to simply scanning your media, Scan Digital will rotate and color correct your photos. In a sample gallery I previewed, Scan Digital had drastically improved the quality of a set of slides from the 1970s.
If your photos are in albums, it’s no problem. Scan Digital will remove the photos and scan them (as long as the photos are not glued inside the albums).
