I have a couple of things to say about the IPhone and IPod touch in general.

I have been looking around for a way to read pdf files on such devices, and it seemed the only way would be to jailbrake them and use some sort of backdoor (istalling apache and using safari).

This night I have found a better solution, that comes in the form of the GMail app installed in the Iphone (or Ipod touch).

Simply set it up with your account, or create a new one if you don't have it, and email a Pdf file from another address. The device will download the attachment and then keep it available, even if you're not connected to a wireless network ;)

With all the attention and marketing hype, who would have though that Apple and AT&T would underestimate the demand on the infrastructure??
