Having and using a second monitor in the right way can be an incredible tool for boosting productivity. A few of the benefits outlined by Taylor are:
- More desktop real estate.
- Get a better project overview when editing video.
- Forget switching between too many hidden windows while working on a programming project.
Taylor’s justifications for a second monitor are all true. I can say from personal experience that more screen real estate can help you work faster — especially for the sort of programming and web development projects that I often undertake. One screen for code, one screen for testing… I wouldn’t have it any other way.
