Chris’ pick is the Creative Vado HD with its wide angle lens, true-to-life colors, and excellent range between extreme dark and bright areas of the frame.

A camera or camcorder with good range will yield crowd-pleasing images. In scenes with a wide range of tones such the bright sunset against the dark mountains in Chris’ test scene, devices with poor range will show the dark areas as nearly black and the bright areas as bright white. A camera with good range and well balanced exposure such as the Creative Vado HD is able to show much more detail in these areas, thereby producing much nicer images.
