Stupid Geek Tricks: Watch Movies in Your Linux Terminal Window” by the How-To Geek is a quick tutorial on watching movies in ASCII. By installing MPlayer and using the -vo caca command line arguments to open up a movie, the video will play in your terminal window drawn in colored ASCII text. For the nostalgic among us, there is also an option to watch in black & white.
