By default, Windows XP stores your My Documents folder in c:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\My Documents. You can change this setting tough, in the case where you want to store your documents on a larger drive, or for any other reason. The process is very simple:
- Right-click on My Documents and click Properties.
- A new window will open up. Near the location of My Documents, click the Move button.
- Another new window will open; select the new location where the My Documents folder should be located.
- You will now be asked if you want to move all your existing documents to the new location, so answer Yes or No.
That’s it. Your My Documents folder now lives in the new location that you selected.
