SmartClose is a free Windows program that gives you one-click control over all of the programs you’ve got running. From the SmartClose website:
“SmartClose is a free program that will automate the process of closing all running programs. It can also save the state of the system to a system snapshot, so all the programs that have been closed can be easily restarted later by SmartClose.”
So, SmartClose has two main functions.
- Close all your open programs with one wizard (disables your screen saver, too).
- With another quick wizard, restore all of the programs that you previously closed, bringing them back exactly the same way they were before you closed them.
SmartClose also has a “Protected Programs” list to which you can add any programs that SmartClose should not touch.
