Watch Movies on Your PC With Netflix’s Watch Now

Tuesday, January 16, 2007

Netflix logoTired of waiting for your Netflix rentals to arrive in your mailbox? Wait no more — Netflix is rolling out a new featured called “Watch Now” that lets Netflix members watch movies on their computers, instantly.

After installing the software required to watch Netflix’s streaming movies, you’ll simply clicking on a “Watch Now” button and be able to see a movie on your computer screen, right away. The catalog of movies available on demand will be organized just as Netflix’s current DVD catalog is archived — accessible via title, genre and rating.

The Watch Now service currently offers either 6 or 18 hours of movie viewing time per month, depending on what level of subscription you have with Netflix. The service is available to a select few Netflix subscribers at the moment, and has a catalog of 1,000 movies. Netflix plans to expand the catalog and make the service available to all their subscribers by June.
