Wirelessly Recharge Your Battery-Powered Gadgets

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

Gadget site “Crave: The gadget blog” shows us a high-tech addition to Herman Miller’s line of office furniture: a desk that recharges any batter-powered gadget that rests on its surface. The furniture’s electric touch comes from Wildcharge’s technology, who at CES showed the public a pad that emits a magnetic field capable of charging batteries within its range.

Speaking as someone whose phone battery constantly dies just because he forgot to plug it in, this would surely solve my recharging woes. Imagine, dropping your phone onto your desk and finding it charged an hour or two later. Best of all, you never had to poke around on the floor for a power strip with an available outlet, nor fish a wire out from behind your nightstand.
