Bill Westerman was unhappy with the state of commentary on making the switch from PC to Mac, and so he set out to publish his own, hype-free account of what it’s like to switch. Westerman is true to his word, and shows very little (if any) bias in his article. According to him, this comes from the fact that before he got a PowerBook a few years back, he was a dedicated Windows/DOS user for a very long time.
Bill’s description of his switch from PC to Mac is nearly devoid of specifics. It’s more of a generalization of what daily life is like with a Mac. He covers the lack of viral threats to OS X, what software and features work as they do under Windows and which ones will give you trouble, how his Mac helps him get more work done, and even quirky encounters with friendly Mac users and curious PC users triggered by his sleek, glowing laptop.
