A Windows Vista Version of Apple’s Expose Windows Manager

Wednesday, February 28, 2007

MyExpose screenshotNow this is interesting: French blogger Simon has implemented a version of Exposé for Windows Vista. Exposé is Mac OS X’s window management application that’s designed to let the user fly around their desktop, managing lots of windows with ease. With Exposé, you can assign actions such as “start screensaver”, or “go to desktop” to happen when you touch certain corners of the screen with your mouse, as well as tile all of your open windows automatically. According to Apple, you can “instantly access any open window with a single keystroke”.

Unfortunately I cannot offer my own insight into MyExposé, since I rolled back my PC from Vista to XP a few weeks ago due to various software and hardware incompatibility issues. I crossed my fingers, took a shot in the dark and tried to install in on XP, but got nowhere. The hat tip for pointing out MyExposé does go to a very reputable source, though: Pirillo’s Picks.
