Sync Your Desktop and Web-Based Calendars with GCALDaemon

Monday, March 12, 2007

GCALDaemon iconGCALDaemon (via Mac OS X Hints) is a handy bit of Java software intended to sync up your data between your offline and online applications. It’s features really appealed to me since I use iCal on my Mac at home, but use Google Calendar on my work PC.

Not only is GCALDaemon an effective helper program, but it’s also supported by an excellent web site. I’d write up a guide for syncing various applications with GCALDaemon, but I’d just be re-inventing the wheel. GCALDaemon’s site features detailed guides for setting up GCALDaemon between various applications, on various operating systems. Here’s the GCal/iCal guide, and here’s the GCal/Mozilla Sunbird guide.
