Printing your posters from your digital photos at home with Block Posters is as easy at 1, 2, 3… literally. Block Posters lets you upload a digital photo, and then sends it back as a multi-page PDF with a portion of your photo on each page.

In parts 1 and 2 of our poster printing series, we covered various professional print shops that will mail you enlarged prints of your digital photos. This time, we’re going to cover the D.I.Y. approach — do it yourself. If you don’t have the budget to order up professional prints, you can use your own home printer, in combination with the free services of Block Posters.com. The results aren’t as high in quality as a professional print job (since Block Posters has a 1 MB file size limit), but they are kind to your wallet.

Step 1: Upload Your Photo

Pick out a digital photo to be blown up, head to Block Posters step 1, and upload it to the Block Posters site. You’ll be forwarded to step 2 once the upload completes.

Step 2: Configure Your Poster

Now it’s time to select how many papers wide your poster should print, and whether those pieces of paper should be portrait or landscape in orientation. Make your selection, and Block Posters will tell you approximately how large your poster will be once fully assembled. Here’s a preview of a photo, chopped into pieces:

Step 3: Download and Print Your Poster

In step 3, your poster is ready to be downloaded and printed. Click the link shown in your browser, and locate the PDF file that downloads. Print out all the pages, and hang them on your wall!.
