With today being Independence Day in America, many OZaC readers will probably be on their way out to see some fireworks tonight. Like me, many of you may have tried to photograph fireworks in the past, but did not know enough about the technicalities of photography to capture a decent shot. Photographing fireworks is always a hot topic on photography blogs around this time of year, so here we present a list of links to various articles discussing the details of firework photography.
- How to Photograph Fireworks, Digital Photography School blog
- How to Photograph Fireworks, Phantom Fireworks
- How to Photograph Fireworks, eHow
- Tips for Great Fireworks Photography, New York Institute of Photography
All of these articles boil down to one thing: if you can control your camera’s aperture, shutter speed and ISO, you can take breathtaking photos of fireworks. Many digital cameras, and all DSLR cameras give you control over these features.
