Spots on your LCD? How to Fix a Stuck Pixel

a dead pixel on an lcd monitorMany of those who uses a flat panel LCD monitor will experience stuck pixels — a defect in the monitor that causes one or more pixels to permanently appear as a solid color, usually red, blue, or green. In fact, I have a glaring green pixel stuck in the upper left corner of one of my monitors right now.

There is no sure-fire method for fixing stuck pixels, but technology site [Geeks are Sexy] offers a few suggestions that may very well solve your pixel problem. Tips include software solutions, as well as touching, tapping, and applying pressure to the screen.

Since some of these tips involve touching your LCD, so you may damage your monitor by following these instructions. Do so at your own risk. Furthermore, these tips will not fix black pixels. Black pixels are not stuck, they’re dead.
