Have you ever embarrassed yourself by inadvertently sending a private e-mail to the wrong contacts, à la American Pie? If the answer is yes, you might be interested in knowing that Outlook has a “defer” rule that can delay the delivery of outgoing messages. Tech support blog The How-To Geek writes:
“Using the “Defer” rule in outlook, we can setup a rule that essentially pauses all message delivery for a few minutes after you click the Send button, to give you a chance to recover.”
By employing this feature, you can give your outgoing e-mails an extra look before they are actually delivered. Check out “Use Outlook Rules to Prevent “Oh No!” After Sending Emails” for complete instructions.
