Manhattanites who own cars and use street parking will be glad to know about Primo Spot, a Google Maps mash-up that delivers the best places to park in any New York City neighborhood.
Primo Spot was created by a programmer who noticed his friend had mapped out on paper out all the best parking spots near her home. Being a programmer, he of course took this map to the next level by building a web application that delivers the same information, for the entire borough, on-demand. Type an address into Primo Spot, and you’ll receive a color-coded map of parking spots. Click on a marker, and Primo Spot will let you know how much longer you can park in that location without receiving a violation.
If you drive a care, live in Manhattan, and don’t rent garage space, Primo Spot might be your new best friend.
