Blogger users who are seeing errors being reported for their XML files by Google Sitemaps can fix the problem by submitting a new sitemap with a slightly modified URL. “Fix Blogger Sitemap XML Warnings Inside Google Webmaster” by Digital Inspiration explains exactly how to carry out this fix.
Apparently, Blogger feeds that redirect to FeedBurner cause Google Sitemaps to trip up and issue warnings for the XML sitemap. The warnings read:
Line: 2 Invalid XML: too many tags - Too many tags describing this tag.
Line: 2 Incorrect namespace - Your Sitemap or Sitemap index file doesn’t properly declare the namespace.
Fortunately, site owners can eliminate these errors without modifying their sitemaps. All that is required is to re-submit the sitemap with ?redirect=false appended to the URL. Check out the DI article for complete instructions.
