Resize & Crop Images Online for Free with Rsizr

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

Rsizr (via CyberNet News) is a web-based application capable of basic image editing. The applications works well, is nicely designed, and best of all, is free.

Rsizr allows you to perform many of the basic editing tasks with ease. The interface provides tools for resizing, cropping, and rotating.

In a comparison test, I resized this photo from 683 pixels wide to 267 pixels in both Rsizr and Photoshop. I opted for 100% quality in both tests. Here are the results blown up to 400%, with Rsizr on the left and Photoshop on the right:

And here are the full-sized versions (once again, Rsizr on the left and Photoshop on the right):

As you can see, Photoshop produced superior results. If quality is of the utmost importance, go with Photoshop. On the other hand, given the fact that Photoshop costs hundreds of dollars and Rsizr is free, Rsizr produces some amazing results as well. If you need to make some quick image adjustments, or happen to be on the road without access to the right software, Rsizr has your back.
