A useful summary … but if you have a gmail POP account, then the email is *not* deleted from Google’s server unless you have chosen that in the settings.

Great article. This nicely articulates one of those things that a lot of IT professionals know in that visceral sort of way, but can’t recall and speak coherently about with any immediacy.

As one who doesn’t deal with the intricacies of email on any kind of regular basis and has that level of “visceral” knowledge, I’ll be keeping this article around for later reference.
