Battle Bricks Tier List

If you’ve just jumped into The Battle Bricks on Roblox and feel overwhelmed by the dozens of battlers available, you’re not alone. I’ve spent hundreds of hours testing units through all chapters, grinding ToM Mode, and analyzing every battler’s performance to bring you the most comprehensive tier list available. With the right battlers in your lineup, you’ll breeze through chapters that would otherwise feel impossible.

The Battle Bricks is a single-player tower defense game where you deploy battlers (units) to fight against enemy NPCs while defending your base. Unlike traditional tower defense games, enemies in this game can fight back, making strategic unit placement and composition absolutely critical. The game features chapters with increasing difficulty, and knowing which battlers to invest in can make clearing all chapters—especially the tougher ToM Mode—much easier.

Understanding Battler Rarities and Mechanics

Before diving into the tier list, let me explain how battlers work in The Battle Bricks. There are five different rarities: Normal Battlers (unlocked through stage completion and XP), Special Battlers (purchased with Bricks or obtained from Badges), Rare Battlers (70% drop rate from Cards), Super Rare Battlers (25% drop rate), and Uber Rare Battlers (5% drop rate, 10% during uberfest).

Each battler can be upgraded up to level 10 initially, unlocking their Alt Form at max level. The maximum level cap increases by 5 after beating each main chapter’s Final Boss Stage, with the current maximum being level 30. This means early-game battlers remain viable throughout your entire journey if properly upgraded.

One crucial mechanic many players overlook is cost scaling. Special, Tarnished, and Super Rare+ Battlers are affected by cost scaling on 2 and 3 Star difficulties, making them much more expensive and sometimes not viable. This is why you’ll often see players using Normal battlers like Trowel instead of Builder in high-difficulty content—the cost efficiency outweighs the stat differences.

Tier List Ranking Criteria

My tier list rankings are based on extensive testing across multiple factors:

  • Damage Output: Raw DPS and ability to clear waves efficiently
  • Survivability: HP, defense stats, and self-sustaining abilities
  • Utility: Special abilities, crowd control, and team synergies
  • Cost Efficiency: Deploy cost versus performance value
  • Availability: How early you can obtain and max out the unit
  • Versatility: Performance across Normal Mode, ToM Mode, and Challenge Stages
  • Late-Game Viability: Effectiveness in Chapter 4+ content

I’ve tested these battlers through Chapter 4 in Normal Mode and Chapter 3 in ToM Mode, consulting with top players in the Discord community and analyzing data from the official Wiki. The meta continues evolving with each balance patch, but these rankings reflect the current state as of March 2026.

S+ Tier Battlers (Game-Changing Units)

These are the absolute best battlers in The Battle Bricks—units that define the meta and should be your top priority to obtain and upgrade.

Tumored Battler

Tumored Battler has been good with pretty much everything in the game. You basically completely replace Battler with him after unlocking him, as he is just a better Battler. This unit maintains the same cost and cooldown as the basic Battler but with significantly improved stats and the crucial omni immunity trait.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Extremely cheap to deploy (fast meatshield)
  • Omni immunity negates many enemy abilities
  • Available relatively early in progression
  • Used in virtually every competitive loadout
  • No cost scaling penalties

Tumored Trowel

Tumored Trowel is actually not too bad, cause the omni immunity kinda helps it to negate Flare, and not like you would usually want to heal a meatshield either. You would basically replace Trowel Battler with this guy after you get him.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Builds walls faster than alternatives
  • Omni immunity prevents enemy interference
  • Essential for bomb battler setups
  • Works perfectly in double-trowel strategies
  • Costs 3k but worth every Brick

Builder Battler

Builder Battler has not only been a pretty reliable meatshield, but has also been used in many 3 star stages, alongside being able to be used alongside Tumored Trowel. Recent meta analysis shows Builder actually outperforms Trowel in certain high-difficulty scenarios.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Builds more durable walls than Trowel
  • Seen more use in hard stages recently
  • Can be paired with Tumored Trowel effectively
  • Critical for setting up bomb strategies
  • No rarity cost scaling

Trowel Battler

Trowel Battler is one of the most important meatshields to have in the game. The one reason he is below Builder is solely because of his nerf. But is #4 cause he makes setting up bomb battler so much easier. Trowel can build walls faster compared to Builder, and even if the walls have low HP, the faster building can allow him to stall enemies quicker.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Fastest wall-building speed
  • Essential until you get Tumored Trowel
  • Superior for quick enemy stalling
  • Normal rarity means no cost scaling
  • Ranked S-tier in Fandom community

Speed Battler

Speed Battler is one of the strongest in the entire game with extremely fast speed, high damage, and great health, obtained from Chapter 1, Stage 13. Speed Battler may be a bit of a surprise, but he has generally been one of the most balanced units of the game thus far, receiving no balance changes, making it one of the most balanced units yet.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Available extremely early (Chapter 1, Stage 13)
  • Zero balance changes = perfectly tuned
  • High damage with excellent survivability
  • Fast deployment and movement speed
  • Carries beginners through mid-game

Ivory

Ivory is the only reason I managed to get Lil Cesus and Tumored/Tarnished Trowel, and is generally good to have for Chronos too. Also has good nuking capabilities too alongside a good amount of armor.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Essential for hardest boss battles
  • Excellent nuking capabilities
  • High armor for survivability
  • Top 10 best units in the game
  • Critical for unlocking meta units

Lil X-TREME

Lil X-TREME has been nerfed so many gosh darn times, and yet he is still part of the top #10. An armoured ranged unit who can stun enemies, has AOE and semi good single target, alongside the explosion in case anything gets too close to it, and generally used in many strategies.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Still top-tier despite multiple nerfs
  • Armored ranged unit with stun
  • AOE and single-target capabilities
  • Explosion on death mechanic
  • Used in countless meta strategies

Newell Battler

Newell Battler is a good ranged tank with good base damage and extremely good damage in its rage mode. Also can be used for 3 star X-TREME if utilized properly as like Lil X-TREME and Ivory, is a good armoured ranged unit. Will be useful as heck for Chapter 5.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Strong ranged tank hybrid
  • Rage mode dramatically increases damage
  • Armored ranged unit
  • Essential for 3-star strategies
  • Future-proof for upcoming content

Lil Cesus

Lil Cesus being better than Lil Chronos may sound strange, but in the long run it may actually be the better use. Solely because you can stack Lil Cesus and like Lil Doombringer, has a last ditch attack before dying. The trip immunity may also be pretty useful.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Stackable for multiplied damage
  • Last-ditch attack before death
  • Trip immunity prevents displacement
  • Better long-term value than Chronos
  • Top 7 unit in the game

Tarnished Trowel

Tarnished Trowel is just too good to be not recognized. It is pretty much a good unit for certain tough boss stages like Blackmail, X-TREME and also Treachstone. Even though it got nerfed, it is generally still useful nonetheless and it is worth spending 3k to spawn it in.

Why It’s S+ Tier:

  • Boss stage specialist
  • Worth 3k spawn cost
  • Still meta despite nerfs
  • Top 6 unit overall
  • Builds tanky walls with summon mechanic

S Tier Battlers (Meta-Defining Picks)

These battlers are extremely powerful and form the backbone of most winning strategies.

Teapot Battler

Teapot Battler has massive AoE damage and tank-like durability, obtained by completing Chapter 4. This unit can practically solo early chapters once unlocked and is a must-have for both Normal and ToM Modes. Teapot Battler is like a better Titan Battler, 50% more expensive because he has armor but can trip too. The built-up rage feature is what makes him somewhat better than both Titan and Telamon.

Strengths:

  • Can solo earlier chapters
  • Massive AoE damage output
  • Tank-like HP and armor
  • Rage mode for faster advancement
  • Superior to Titan/Telamon

How to Get: Complete Chapter 4

Lil Doombringer

Lil Doombringer has great DPS and high efficiency in ToM Mode, obtained by completing Chapter 1 with 3 Stars. Perfect for clearing waves and bosses, especially when paired with good support. Lil Doombringer is good for slowly pushing, and when near the enemy base, if killed, death slaves can deal pretty good AOE damage to the enemy base because of base destroyer. His cost buff helps with that, especially because he has lots of armor.

Strengths:

  • Excellent ToM Mode performance
  • Death explosion damages enemy base
  • High armor for survivability
  • Cost-efficient after buff
  • Great for Uzi Rambo and Bulldozer

How to Get: Complete Chapter 1 with 3 Stars

Titan Battler

Titan Battler works as a durable tank for your team. Pair this with Rocket or Grenade Battlers behind it, and it creates one of the best defensive and offensive setups in the game. Titan Battler just feels like a worse Telamon Battler at this point. But he is still a generally good tank to have.

Strengths:

  • Excellent frontline tank
  • Protects ranged units behind
  • High HP pool
  • AOE damage capability
  • Synergizes with ranged battlers

Strategic Use: Always place Rocket and Grenade Battlers behind Titan for maximum protection and damage output.

Rocket & Grenade Battlers

Rocket and Grenade Battlers are the perfect combo for late-game progression. When placed behind Titan Battler, they deal massive ranged damage while staying protected.

Strengths:

  • Devastating ranged AoE damage
  • Protected when behind tanks
  • Essential late-game duo
  • High DPS output
  • Excellent wave clear

Blonde Battler / Battler

Blonde Battler and Battler are both your generic meatshields only to be replaced by Tumored Battler later on. But he is the only reason why most of us have made it to this stage of The Battle Bricks.

Strengths:

  • Fastest meatshield deployment
  • Cheapest unit in game
  • Spam-friendly for wave stalling
  • Carried most players through early game
  • Eventually replaced by Tumored variant

Tarnished Battler

Tarnished Battler is basically a meatshield which is really tanky. Generally finding its use for 3 star Cesus strategies, but do beware of Cesus’ grab attack. But this Tarnished unit is not as good as the other 2 Tarnished units.

Strengths:

  • Extremely tanky meatshield
  • Summons allies on death
  • Essential for 3-star Cesus
  • Crowd control through spawning
  • Third-best Tarnished unit

Lil Turking

Lil Turking is pretty good cause of his vomit attack, and his recent buff kinda helps compensate for his nerfs he received beforehand. Also generally a good semi-tanky unit too.

Strengths:

  • Unique vomit AOE attack
  • Recent buffs improved viability
  • Semi-tanky stats
  • Decent survivability
  • Good crowd control

Strengths:

  • Consistent nuking damage
  • Armor for survivability
  • Omni immunity
  • Better than Luckroll
  • Transforms into space station replica

  • Hellfire DOT effect
  • Chapter 3 Tumore specialist
  • Effective vs small groups

Strengths:

  • Better Bugle alternative
  • Explosion on activation
  • Resistance stat
  • Global utility
  • Cost increase worth it

Strengths:

  • Boss stage specialist
  • Essential for 3-star Infernus
  • High single-target damage
  • Piercing capabilities
  • Situationally invaluable

Noir

Noir is just a generally good source of DPS, despite his health nerf he is still very useful and generally good to have for Chapter 3 as a whole. Just do not let him get deleted.

Strengths:

  • Excellent DPS output
  • Chapter 3 workhorse
  • Still viable post-nerf
  • High damage dealer
  • Requires protection

Telamon Battler

Telamon Battler is the better Titan Battler, effectively speaking, solely because Telamon can heal himself and is generally pretty bulky.

Strengths:

  • Self-healing ability
  • Better than Titan
  • High bulk
  • AOE damage
  • Sustained combat effectiveness

Tarnished Sword Battler

Tarnished Sword Battler, being able to tank up to 3 or 4 lethal hits, is a generally pretty good unit to have, especially for Chronos. Falls just short of top 10 because not owned yet by many.

Strengths:

  • Survives 3-4 lethal hits
  • Chronos counter
  • High survivability
  • Top 11 unit
  • Rare but powerful

A+ Tier Battlers (Highly Effective Units)

Strengths:

  • Easy rage mode activation
  • Cost-efficient
  • Chapter 4 effective
  • Payload Battler synergy
  • High damage when enraged

Beastly Battler

Strengths:

  • Massive enraged damage
  • Worth setup investment
  • High damage ceiling
  • Requires friendly damage

  • Consistent performer
  • Easy to use

Retro Battler

  • Solid meatshield
  • Alternative to Tumored Sword
  • Good survivability

  • Much improved
  • Setup dependent

Mafia Krip / Crocket

Mafia Krip and Crocket are both good ranged units to have as a starter player, especially when trying to beat 3 star Chapter 1 and 2 in Normal Mode. Both have very good DPS and can have AOE which is useful in most cases where there’s a lot of weak enemies but with high damage or the opposite.

  • Limited general use

B Tier Battlers (Decent but Situational)

Cloak Battler

Cloak Battler is often considered underwhelming. Many players invest XP here early on but later find it less useful. It lacks power and durability compared to other options.

Why B-Tier:

  • Underwhelming performance
  • Better alternatives exist
  • Early investment trap
  • Lacks power
  • Low durability

Tuna Battler

Tuna Battler works well when combined with Speed Battler. On its own, it’s average—but can be strong in combo setups.

Why B-Tier:

  • Requires Speed Battler
  • Average solo performance
  • Combo-dependent
  • Situational value
  • Better in pairs

Terror / Wes / Jester

Terror, Wes, and Jester Battlers all are ranked together, but I find them not that useful, but only ever so useful cause of the fear effect, but that is it. Oh and also they are usually somewhat hard to utilize properly.

Why B-Tier:

  • Fear effect only
  • Hard to utilize
  • Limited usefulness
  • Niche application
  • Better alternatives

Miner / Conjuror

Miner and Conjuror are alright, but outclassed by their alts.

Why B-Tier:

  • Outclassed by alt forms
  • Decent baseline
  • Upgrade recommended
  • Limited viability
  • Alt form superior

Hurtorb / Remote

Hurtorb and Remote are alright ranged units, but their roles are outclassed.

Why B-Tier:

  • Outclassed roles
  • Decent ranged units
  • Better alternatives exist
  • Baseline acceptable
  • Not optimal

Fencer is only semi useful cause of the armored guys, nothing else.

Why B-Tier:

  • Armored enemy specialist

Butcher is hard to utilize properly.

Why B-Tier:

  • Difficult to use effectively
  • High skill requirement
  • Inconsistent results
  • Better options available
  • Limited upside

Schema

Schema feels overpriced and potentially underwhelming for his role.

Why B-Tier:

  • Overpriced
  • Underwhelming performance
  • Poor cost efficiency
  • Role fulfilled better elsewhere
  • Not worth investment

Batter Battler

Batter Battler feels alright, but I use him much less than I expected to see myself using him in Chapter 4, what a shame.

Why B-Tier:

  • Disappointing Chapter 4 performance
  • Expected more
  • Underutilized
  • Decent but not great
  • Better alternatives

Protest / Outcry / Drummer

Protest, Outcry, and Drummer are only here cause their buffs are global and are sometimes useful, but I find myself never using them anywhere.

Why B-Tier:

  • Global buffs
  • Rarely used
  • Situational utility
  • Better support exists
  • Overshadowed

Lord Skelly / Mall Santa / Dark Reaper

Lord Skelly, Mall Santa, and Dark Reaper are alright units, but are usually only useful on 1 star/2 star on maps, solely because of their kill mechanic.

Why B-Tier:

  • Kill mechanic gimmick
  • Only useful on lower difficulties
  • Limited scaling
  • Situational
  • Not 3-star viable

Barbed Battler

Barbed Battler is only here cause he can solo Fusecoil 3 star.

Why B-Tier:

  • One-stage specialist
  • Fusecoil only
  • Ultra-niche

I felt like I should have placed Stunner Battler higher, but his almost abysmal range is preventing me from doing so.

Why B-Tier:

  • Abysmal range
  • Stunning capability
  • Requires stacking
  • Limited by range
  • Potential held back

Winged

Winged is only semi useful as an anti-angel ranged unit, but feels bad cause Judgement exists.

Why B-Tier:

  • Outclassed by Judgement
  • Anti-angel niche
  • Semi useful
  • Better alternatives
  • Overshadowed

Iceball

Iceball is only here cause of him being a counter to Burnout.

Why B-Tier:

  • Burnout counter only
  • Ultra-niche
  • Single purpose
  • Not general use
  • Specialist pick

Sword / Brigand

Sword and Brigand Battlers are alrightish meatshields, but there are way better meatshield choices. Sword Battler is able to deal extra damage when stacked and has above average health.

Why B-Tier:

  • Outclassed meatshields
  • Above average stats
  • Stacking required
  • Better options exist
  • Budget choice

Dryad

Dryad Battler is outclassed by her normal form and 2 other AOE healing units which are not called “Intern Elf”.

Why B-Tier:

  • Outclassed by normal form
  • Inferior healer
  • Better AOE healers exist
  • Disappointing alt
  • Not recommended

Psi / Cloak

Psi and Cloak are alright, but I feel like they may have potential but for now not much people utilize them.

Why B-Tier:

  • Underutilized
  • Hidden potential
  • Community hasn’t optimized
  • Experimental
  • May rise in future

Sailor

Sailor Battler is semi useful for those pesky shieldmen or those armored guys for money, but that’s it.

Why B-Tier:

  • Shield/armor counter
  • Money generation
  • Very limited use
  • Outclassed by Pirate
  • Niche application

Regen Battler

Regen Battler got “Buffed” but I will not find myself using him that much still.

Why B-Tier:

  • Recent buff insufficient
  • Still underused
  • Not impactful
  • Better alternatives
  • Limited viability

Chairman

Chairman is only ever so useful for speedrunning and EXP grinding, and acts like a mini Lil Deathbringer but actually better than Lil Deathbringer himself. But B is the highest I give him cause not much useful anywhere else.

Why B-Tier:

  • Speedrun specialist
  • EXP grinding
  • Not combat-focused
  • Limited general use
  • Farming only

Glass Battler

Glass Battler was only used for me to counter Warhead, but now is outclassed by Bomb Battler.

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Outclassed by Bomb
  • Warhead counter
  • Previously useful
  • Power crept
  • Niche remaining

Rocket / Trainee

Rocket and Trainee are both outclassed by their alts.

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Alt forms superior
  • Decent baseline
  • Worth upgrading
  • Early game viable
  • Eventually replaced

Boxer

Boxer was pretty good, until that one nerf…

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Post-nerf decline
  • Previously strong
  • Still usable
  • Better alternatives now
  • Nerf hurt viability

B. Money

B. Money is an alright source of economy, but you would not need him that much.

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Economy booster
  • Not essential
  • Luxury pick
  • Better farming methods
  • Optional unit

Ignis

Ignis is the more expensive Arson, with more damage, but I rarely ever find a use for him. Only here cause used in a 3 star pre-Chapter 4 Infernus strategy.

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Expensive Arson
  • Rarely used
  • 3-star Infernus strategy
  • Cost inefficient
  • Better alternatives

Payload

Payload Battler is good for triggering certain rage modes, like Turking’s vomit or Lil Death’s spin, but not much other uses outside of that. Oh wait I nearly forget about killing friendly meatshields to trigger Werewolf/Beastly Battler.

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Rage trigger utility
  • Niche synergies
  • Limited general use
  • Combo enabler
  • Support role

Medic / Mage / Healorb

Medic, Mage, and Healorb Battler are all not bad healers, all ranked at the same time cause they generally have the same use.

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Decent healers
  • Interchangeable
  • Support role
  • Not essential
  • Situational value

Hobo / Hoarder

Hobo and Hoarder would be very good in Chapter 5 probably, but for now not really.

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Future potential
  • Chapter 5 ready
  • Currently mediocre
  • May rise
  • Hold for updates

Prospect

Prospect is good for countering certain absorber walls and those pesky forcefield enemies who think they are slick with their high resistance.

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Absorber wall counter
  • Forcefield specialist
  • Niche utility
  • Specific scenarios
  • Situational pick

Dual Regen / Sleepy

Dual Regen and Sleepy Battler are here solely because of Chronos’ beam attack and stuff, cause of their ability to technically survive lethal hits, but there is a certain Tumored unit who can do the same.

Why B+ (High B-Tier):

  • Chronos specialist
  • Lethal hit survival
  • Outclassed by Tumored variant
  • Boss niche
  • Redundant

C Tier Battlers (Lack of Niches / Outclassed)

Gravity

Gravity just feels like a more complex meatshield that is harder to use for no reason.

Why C-Tier:

  • Overcomplicated
  • Harder to use
  • No benefit over simpler options
  • Complex for no gain
  • Avoid

Fireball

Fireball is just the worse Arson.

Why C-Tier:

  • Strictly worse than Arson
  • Outclassed
  • No reason to use
  • Inferior version
  • Skip

Healer / Slateskin

Healer and Slateskin are only sometimes useful, but ever so rarely useful.

Why C-Tier:

  • Rarely useful
  • Limited application
  • Better healers exist
  • Situational at best
  • Not recommended

Intern Elf just feels alright. (Maybe Chapter 6 will change that)

Why C-Tier:

  • Just alright
  • Nothing special
  • Waiting on Chapter 6
  • Mediocre performance
  • Hopeful future

Spiked

Spiked Battler feels (Kinda?) useless solely because I only seen him being used on Fresh Meat (Tumore).

Why C-Tier:

  • Ultra-niche
  • One stage use
  • Mostly useless
  • Not worth investment
  • Skip

Maxwell

Same logic applies to Maxwell, only being used for Blackmail back then.

Why C-Tier:

  • One stage use
  • Outdated strategy
  • Not needed anymore
  • Ultra-niche
  • Skip

Flashlight

Flashlight is alright, but blinding enemies does not feel like it has that much of an impact for now.

Why C-Tier:

  • Blind effect weak
  • Low impact
  • Alright but not good
  • Better alternatives
  • Not recommended

Tomfoolery

Tomfoolery may be good in Chapter 6, but not much for now. (But could get good combos)

Why C-Tier:

  • Waiting on Chapter 6
  • Not good currently
  • Potential combos
  • Future speculation
  • Hold for updates

Bugle

Bugle feels kinda redundant as well, outclassed by a certain Lil Exec.

Why C-Tier:

  • Outclassed by Lil Exec
  • Redundant
  • No reason to use
  • Inferior version
  • Skip

Tix Collector

Tix Collector after the most recent nerf basically returned to being kinda useless and a waste of space.

Why C-Tier:

  • Recent nerf
  • Useless now
  • Waste of space
  • Not worth it
  • Avoid

Binge Cola / Binge Brew

Binge Cola and Binge Brew have gotten a decent use in the chapter trait enemies they should be good against, which is nice to see, sadly not utilized much enough to be any higher.

Why C-Tier:

  • Limited trait use
  • Not utilized enough
  • Decent but not great
  • Niche application
  • Better options

Gamble

Gamble is just inconsistent Krip which needs to be stacked to be good.

Why C-Tier:

  • Inconsistent
  • Requires stacking
  • Worse than Krip
  • RNG dependent
  • Unreliable

Lil Death

Lil Death is the worst Lil unit, and you cannot deny that. He is only good for speedrunning or if you could keep him alive for a longer period, but that means you need more money soooo yeah.

Why C-Tier:

  • Worst Lil unit
  • Hard to keep alive
  • Money intensive
  • Speedrun only
  • Not worth it

Banhammer

Banhammer is just outclassed by regular Hammer Battler, simply because Hammer does his job way better than Banhammer Battler.

Why C-Tier:

  • Outclassed by Hammer
  • Worse at same role
  • No advantages
  • Skip for Hammer
  • Not recommended

Baller / Paintballer

Baller and Paintballer have only been semi useful once or twice for me, but I see not much reason to use them over many other ranged units.

Why C-Tier:

  • Rarely useful
  • Better ranged options
  • Minimal impact
  • Not worth slot
  • Skip

Coil

Coil is alright, but similarly to Paintballer and Baller, outclassed. Only better cause retargeting mechanic.

Why C-Tier:

  • Outclassed
  • Slight edge from retargeting
  • Still not good enough
  • Better options exist
  • Skip

Cola

Cola is actually not too bad to counter off black ranged units, the only issue being the only black ranged units that are reachable by Cola is Vigilante.

Why C-Tier:

  • Ultra-niche counter
  • One enemy use
  • Not worth slot
  • Too specific
  • Skip

D Tier Battlers (Outclassed / Inconsistent)

Goala does not feel that useful, but maybe Chapter 5 may change things.

Why D-Tier:

  • Not useful currently
  • Waiting on Chapter 5
  • Underperforming
  • Skip for now
  • Future speculation

Prankster

Prankster is basically combining Stunner and Grenade Battler, but as of now is outclassed.

Why D-Tier:

  • Outclassed hybrid
  • Worse than components
  • Not worth using
  • Skip
  • Use originals instead

Luckroll

Luckroll is unreliable most of the time, only useful in certain G Hammer challenges.

Why D-Tier:

  • Unreliable RNG
  • Ultra-niche use
  • Inconsistent
  • Not worth slot
  • Avoid

Binge Goala

Binge Goala has an odd flaw, cause Batter Battler could do the same thing but much more consistently, while Soccer just is better overall. (For now)

Why D-Tier:

  • Inconsistent
  • Better alternatives
  • Odd flaws
  • Not recommended
  • Skip

Frigus

Frigus is only useful for Burnout, but I’d rather use Iceball over Frigus cause Iceball is much cheaper.

Why D-Tier:

  • Outclassed by cheaper Iceball
  • One enemy use
  • Overpriced
  • Not worth cost
  • Use Iceball

Brew

Brew is not too good cause generally outclassed by alt form and the weakness effect may not be utilized that much, especially since Cyber Battler exists and is way better.

Why D-Tier:

  • Outclassed by alt
  • Weaken effect not useful
  • Cyber better
  • Skip
  • Use alternatives

E Tier Battlers (Rarely Ever Useful)

Dual Gravity

Dual Gravity Battler feels redundant, there are much better stunners out there. (Looking at you, Lil X-TREME.)

Why E-Tier:

  • Redundant
  • Better stunners exist
  • Lil X-TREME superior
  • Not worth using
  • Avoid

Megaphone

Megaphone Battler feels redundant, there are much better stunners out there.

Why E-Tier:

  • Redundant stunner
  • Outclassed
  • Better options
  • Waste of slot

Officer relies on enemies being more powerful whilst being a meatshield. This leads to a lot of problems.

Why E-Tier:

  • Problematic mechanic
  • Requires strong enemies
  • Flawed design
  • Not reliable
  • Avoid

Mu

Mu is only in E cause I use him in Flare stages back then but I don’t anymore. Other than that, he is rather susceptible to dying before being able to burn anything.

Why E-Tier:

  • Dies too quickly
  • Limited Flare use
  • Not used anymore
  • Unreliable
  • Skip

F Tier Battlers (Basically Useless)

Birthday Battler

Celebration Battler feels rather overpriced for its role.

Why F-Tier:

  • Overpriced
  • Underperforms
  • Not worth cost
  • Better options
  • Skip

Recommended Loadouts for Success

Chapter 4 & ToM Mode Tested Loadout

Here’s the tested loadout that can clear all current chapters with ease: Teapot Battler, Speed Battler, Titan Battler, Rocket Battler, and Grenade Battler. This setup gives you the perfect balance of defense, AoE, and single-target DPS. Place Titan Battler up front and the Rocket and Grenade Battlers behind it for maximum protection and output.

Early Game Budget Loadout (Chapter 1-2)

  • Battler / Blonde Battler: Spam for cheap meatshield
  • Trowel Battler: Wall building for defense
  • Speed Battler: Primary DPS carry
  • Rocket / Crocket Battler: AOE damage
  • Sword Battler: Stacked melee damage

Mid Game Progression (Chapter 2-3)

  • Tumored Battler: Replace regular Battler
  • Builder Battler: Upgrade from Trowel
  • Speed Battler: Still core DPS
  • Lil Doombringer: Boss killer
  • Grenade / Arson: AOE control

Late Game Optimization (Chapter 4+)

  • Tumored Battler: Best meatshield
  • Tumored Trowel: Best wall builder
  • Teapot Battler: Tank + AOE
  • Lil X-TREME: Ranged stunner
  • Ivory / Newell: Nukers

Essential Tips for Building Your Team

Don’t waste XP on underperforming units like the Cloak Battler early on. Prioritize unlocking Speed Battler and Teapot Battler as soon as possible. Always experiment with placement—frontline tanks like Titan pair best with ranged DPS behind them. Keep upgrading your S-Tier units to max for long-term use; they’ll carry you through every mode.

Resource Management

  • Focus upgrades on S+ and S-tier units first
  • Normal battlers avoid cost scaling penalties
  • Don’t level units you won’t use long-term
  • Save Bricks for essential Special battlers

Placement Strategies

  • Tanks in front (Titan, Telamon, Teapot)
  • Ranged DPS behind tanks (Rocket, Grenade)
  • Meatshields for stalling (Tumored Battler)
  • Wall builders early (Tumored Trowel)
  • Support units protected in back

Gacha Priority

When rolling Cards, prioritize banners featuring:

  • Uber Rares (5% chance, 10% during Uberfest)
  • Lil X-TREME, Ivory, Lil Cesus
  • Super Rares with unique mechanics
  • Avoid rolling for Normal/Special battlers

How Rarities Affect Your Strategy

Understanding rarity mechanics is crucial for building cost-efficient teams:

Normal Battlers:

  • No cost scaling on higher difficulties
  • Often used in 3-star strategies
  • Cheaper to upgrade
  • Available through stage progression

Special Battlers:

  • Cost scaling on 2-3 star difficulties
  • Purchased with Bricks or Badges
  • Generally stronger base stats
  • Good mid-game options

Rare Battlers (70% drop):

  • Most common Gacha pulls
  • Decent early options
  • Often outclassed later
  • Good for beginners

Super Rare (25% drop):

  • Strong unique mechanics
  • Worth investing if meta-relevant
  • Cost scaling applies
  • Mid-tier priority

Uber Rare (5% drop):

  • Most powerful units
  • Game-changing abilities
  • Highest priority rolls
  • Essential for late-game

Meta Shifts and Balance Changes

The Battle Bricks receives regular balance patches that can shift the meta significantly. Lil X-TREME has been nerfed so many times, and yet he is still part of the top #10. This shows that truly broken units remain viable even after nerfs.

Recent buffs that improved units:

  • Dual Speed Battler: Now speedrun viable
  • Shanker: High potential for Chapter 5
  • Ceramic: Much better with recent changes
  • Vulcan: Essential for boss battles
  • Lil Exec: Better despite cost increase

Recent nerfs that hurt viability:

  • Boxer: “Was pretty good until that one nerf”
  • Tix Collector: Returned to useless status
  • Lil Turking: Compensating for previous nerfs
  • Noir: Health nerf, still viable

Advanced Strategies for 3-Star Stages

Three-star difficulties dramatically increase costs for Special, Tarnished, and Super Rare+ battlers. This is why Normal forms are used instead of Alternate forms—the cost scaling makes them much more expensive and sometimes not even viable due to them being expensive.

3-Star Cost-Efficient Teams:

  • Prioritize Normal rarity battlers
  • Trowel over Builder (faster walls)
  • Speed over Dual Speed (no scaling)
  • Archer/Crossbow over Gacha alternatives

Boss-Specific Strategies:

  • Infernus: Hyperbike, Bomb, Rail (3-star setup)
  • X-TREME: Newell, Lil X-TREME, Ivory, Trebuchet
  • Blackmail: Tarnished Trowel, Commander, Maxwell
  • Cesus: Tarnished Battler, Ivory (3-star)
  • Chronos: Ivory, Tarnished Sword, Dual Regen
  • Deathbringer: Vulcan, Raigquitter, Micspammer

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Mistake 1: Investing in Cloak Battler

Many players invest XP in Cloak Battler early on but later find it less useful. It lacks power and durability compared to other options.

Solution: Focus on Speed, Lil Doombringer, and other S-tier units instead.

Mistake 2: Not Using Normal Battlers on 3-Star

Cost scaling makes expensive units unviable on highest difficulties.

Solution: Build teams around Normal rarity battlers for 3-star content.

Mistake 3: Ignoring Placement

Even the best battlers fail with poor positioning.

Solution: Always experiment with placement—frontline tanks like Titan pair best with ranged DPS behind them.

Mistake 4: Neglecting Alt Forms

Upgrading to level 10 unlocks powerful alternate forms.

Solution: Max out S-tier units to access alt forms—many are dramatically better.

Mistake 5: Random Gacha Rolls

Rolling without strategy wastes precious Bricks.

Solution: Wait for Uberfest (10% Uber chance) and target specific meta units.

Future-Proofing Your Team

With Chapter 5 on the horizon, certain battlers show promise:

Newell Battler will be useful as heck for Chapter 5. Hobo/Hoarder would be very good in Chapter 5 probably. Soccer Battler may be very useful in Chapter 5. Arson Battler may be even more useful in Chapter 5.

Chapter 5 Preparation:

  • Max level Newell Battler
  • Have Hobo/Hoarder ready
  • Consider Soccer Battler
  • Upgrade Arson
  • Save Bricks for new releases

FAQs About The Battle Bricks Tier List

What is the best battler in The Battle Bricks?

The best overall battler is Tumored Battler due to its universal use in every loadout, omni immunity, and no cost scaling penalties. For pure damage, Teapot Battler and Lil X-TREME dominate after Chapter 4 completion.

Should I use Normal or Special battlers for 3-star stages?

Always prioritize Normal battlers for 3-star stages because Special, Tarnished, and Super Rare+ battlers are affected by cost scaling on 2 and 3 Star difficulties, making them much more expensive and sometimes not viable.

How do I get Teapot Battler?

Teapot Battler is obtained by completing Chapter 4. It has massive AoE damage and tank-like durability, and can practically solo early chapters once unlocked.

Is Speed Battler worth upgrading to max level?

Absolutely. Speed Battler has generally been one of the most balanced units of the game thus far, receiving no balance changes, making it one of the most balanced units yet. It’s available early and remains viable throughout the entire game.

What’s the best loadout for clearing Chapter 4?

The tested loadout that can clear all current chapters includes: Teapot Battler, Speed Battler, Titan Battler, Rocket Battler, and Grenade Battler. Place Titan Battler up front and the Rocket and Grenade Battlers behind it for maximum protection and output.

How do I beat ToM Mode efficiently?

Focus on S+ tier units like Tumored Battler, Tumored Trowel, and Lil Doombringer. Lil Doombringer has great DPS and high efficiency in ToM Mode, perfect for clearing waves and bosses when paired with good support.

Are Gacha units necessary to progress?

No, but they help significantly. Normal and Special battlers can carry you through Normal Mode. For ToM Mode and 3-star content, strategic use of Normal battlers often outperforms expensive Gacha units due to cost scaling.

How often does the tier list change with updates?

The Battle Bricks receives balance patches every few weeks. Units like Lil Turking received recent buffs to compensate for previous nerfs, while Tix Collector got nerfed and returned to being kinda useless. Check the Discord regularly for patch notes.

What should I spend Bricks on first?

Prioritize: (1) Essential Special battlers like Speed (if not unlocked yet), (2) Upgrading S+ tier units to max level, (3) Gacha rolls during Uberfest, (4) Base and Cannon upgrades. Never waste Bricks on F-tier units.

Can I beat the game without Uber Rare battlers?

Yes, but it’s significantly harder. The top 10 units include several Uber Rares like Ivory, Lil X-TREME, and Lil Cesus, but strategic use of S-tier Special and Normal battlers can achieve similar results with proper team composition.

Final Thoughts

After hundreds of hours of gameplay and testing through all chapters, units like Teapot Battler, Speed Battler, and Lil Doombringer are game-changers that can carry your entire team even in higher chapters. While some units are harder to unlock, investing time into these top-tier battlers will make clearing every mode far easier.

Remember that tier lists provide guidance, but your playstyle and available units matter most. Don’t feel pressured to copy meta loadouts exactly—experiment with combinations that work for your progression level and preferences.

The Battle Bricks community is incredibly helpful, so join the official Discord to share strategies, trade tips, and stay updated on the latest balance changes. The game continues evolving with new chapters, battlers, and mechanics, so this tier list will be updated regularly to reflect the current meta in 2026.
