Download and Convert Favicons with Favicon Grabber

Monday, March 2, 2009
Icon Grabber by Mindzilla is a web-based utility that will grab the favicon of any URL you input and convert it to a another format sugn as PNG. You can then save the resulting image file to your computer’s hard drive.

A favicon is the icon you see next the URL of a web page in your browser’s address bar. Most web browsers also use these icons for bookmarks. Many favicons are .ico files, which is why Favicon Grabber features an option to convert to other formats.

Not every site uses a custom favicon… in fact at the time of this writing I have not made one for Of Zen and Computing.
