Disclosure Policy

In 2009 the FTC published guidelines requiring bloggers who endorse products and/or services to disclose what sort of compensation they receive in exchange for doing so. That’s cool; honesty has been our policy at Of Zen and Computing since day one. Here is what you need to know:

Who we are

Of Zen and Computing is a technology website and blog owned by Harrison Internet Services LLC, written and edited by Tom Harrison. This site generates income from all of its content, including blog posts and other web pages.

How we make money

This site accepts paid advertisements, marked as such, which are displayed in conjunction with blog posts, articles and other content.

This site is an Amazon affiliate. We earn a commission from any purchases you make as a result of clicking our links to Amazon.com (even if you don’t purchase the specific product to which we linked).

Are we compensated for what we write?

From time to time, this site receives free products or services from companies in exchange for writing posts. When this is the case, we’ll tell you.

From time to time, this site publishes reviews of products or services the author has independently purchased and evaluated.

Does this affect what we write?

Compensation received may influence the advertising content and topics covered, but does not influence the content of the posts on this site nor its opinions. This site will not publish a positive review of a product or service in exchange for compensation.

This site does not currently participate in pay-for-post programs. If a paid post is ever published on this site, it will be clearly marked as such.
