1. ASUS TUF Dash 15

Best Overall i7 Laptop

ASUS TUF Dash 15

Screen: 15.6” Full HD 144Hz (1920 x 1080) IPS Display | CPU: Latest 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12650H | Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6 | RAM: 16GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM | Storage: 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD | Ports: 1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB 3.2 Type-C (Gen2), 2x USB 3.2 Type-A (Gen1), 1x HDMI 2.0b, 1x 3.5mm Audio Jack, 1x LAN | Speaker: 2.1 stereo speakers, DOLBY ATMOS | Weight: ‎4.41 pounds

As seasoned gamers would all agree, nothing beats a device with excellent specs and a robust build that can undoubtedly take the heat. To this end, the ASUS TUF Dash 15 is an incredible laptop that redefines the gaming experience on many fronts.

The first thing I noticed about this gaming powerhouse is the impressive package that gracefully blends power and performance. With its screen, you are treated to a fantastic 144Hz refresh rate on a Full HD 15.6” Display.

This feature alone definitely seals the deal, as it guarantees an ultra-smooth visual experience whether you’re deeply engrossed in a game or streaming your favorite series.

For power users who demand lightning-speed responsiveness during intense gameplay sessions, wouldn’t you rather opt for a machine designed to do just that? This is what the ASUS TUF Dash 15 offers.

It runs on the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12650H Processor coupled with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. With these, get ready to experience seamless gameplay and breathtaking visuals at high settings without any lags or stuttering.

More so, keeping true to its TUF series lineage, this laptop sports a durable build capable of enduring long hours of intense gaming.

The sturdy design incorporates military-grade materials – an obvious testament to its structural potency. Consequently, it becomes an ideal option for users who value longevity and durability in their gadgets.

In terms of aesthetics, it’s hard not to notice how well put together this device looks – lightweight at just ‎4.41 pounds and sporting numerous ports, including Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI slots, among others.

Not everything is rosy with the ASUS TUF Dash 15. I found out after months of usage that the device tends to run pretty hot under heavy load due largely to breathing space around its cooling vents being slightly compromised—I had to solve this by pointing a fan towards it!

When my power button went faulty after a year of heavy usage, I discovered that the design of the keyboard meant that I would have to replace the whole keyboard to fix the button—a repair cost almost equivalent to half the laptop’s price.

Our Verdict

Despite these setbacks, I still think this is a solid gaming laptop. The ASUS TUF Dash 15 is, indeed, a force to reckon with among top gaming laptops.

The ASUS TUF Dash 15 offers an immersive viewing experience and powerful gameplay performance. It’s perfect for any avid gamer despite some of its minor setbacks.

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional screen refresh rate
  • Robust and sturdy build
  • High-end processor and graphics card
CONS

  • The device runs hot under heavy use
  • Power button integrated into keyboard brings potential high-cost repairs

2. MSI Katana GF76

Best i7 Laptop Under $1,000

MSI Katana GF76

Screen: 15.6 FHD, IPS-Level 144Hz, 45% NTSC | CPU: Intel Core i7-12650H | Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU | RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz | Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD Gen 4×4 | Ports: 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 x USB 2.0 Type-A, 1 x RJ45 LAN, 1 x HDMI(4k@60Hz), 1 x Audio combo jack, 1 x DC-in | Speaker: 2 x 3w speakers, Hi-Res Audio | Weight: ‎4.8 pounds

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for powerful laptops that can handle high-fidelity games without breaking the bank.

That’s why I was thrilled when I got my hands on the MSI Katana GF76. Powered by Intel Core i7-12650H RTX 3050 Ti with an impressive NVIDIA RTX3050 Ti Laptop GPU, this machine offers performance not commonly seen in this price range.

I find the MSI Katana GF76 equally apt for both work and play. When traveling or attending long meetings, though, do remember to carry a power brick as its battery life could be better.

Its Wi-Fi reception is notably improved from previous models. Despite my initial reservations about an FHD screen as opposed to a preferable 2K one, I found that at a size of 15″, the distinction didn’t impact my computing experience much.

In fact, the device produces pretty impressive frame rates even when hooked up to my home’s 2K monitors.

One thing I have enjoyed about this laptop is how easy it makes upgrades. You can easily increase its memory with either dual-16GB or dual-32GB SODIMM DDR5 sticks.

There is also an available slot for installing an additional NVMe SSD drive, though do note that it lacks a mounting screw, requiring some innovation on your part.

As expected with performance laptops, the fans under load are audible. While its form factor isn’t the smallest available in the market, the compromise made in size is offset by its gaming prowess and affordability.

I should note, however, that there have indeed been reported issues with faulty hardware and operation inefficiencies. There were complaints about slow performance on a new device and difficulties in downloading games like Sims 4.

Customer support appears to diagnose these problems as defects in the hardware. Unfortunately, someone had such an experience after significant anticipation of their purchase.

Our Verdict

The MSI Katana GF76 is a high-performance laptop delivering on all fronts for gaming enthusiasts at a competitive price point of $909.

Despite some reported technical glitches, the majority find this laptop performs well under varying conditions for both work and gaming purposes. Like any tech purchase, consider where you’re purchasing from to ensure good care is taken during shipping.

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • High performance at a low price
  • Decent battery life for working on-the-go
  • Easy upgrades
CONS

  • Fan noise can be loud under load
  • Some reports of hardware issues

3. GIGABYTE AORUS 15 XE4

Best i7 Laptop With 17-Inches Display

GIGABYTE AORUS 15 XE4

Screen: 15.6″ Thin Bezel QHD 2560×1440 IPS-level Display | CPU: Intel Core i7-12700H (2.3GHz~4.7GHz) | Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU 8GB GDDR6 | RAM: 16GB DDR5 4200MHz | Storage: 1TB Storage NVMe SSD | Ports: 1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 (Type-C with DP), 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 (Type-A), 1x RJ45, 1x Audio Combo Jack, 1x DC-in | Speaker: 2x 2W Speakers, DTS X Ultra Audio | Weight: ‎5.29 pounds

Having used the GIGABYTE AORUS 15 XE4, I must confess that it’s quite the powerhouse. This sturdy gray metal laptop comes at a price of $1,587 and boasts some impressive specifications.

Underneath its sleek exterior, you’ll find an Intel Core i7-12700H (2.3GHz~4.7GHz) CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR6. Yes, you heard it right – this beast can reach a maximum graphics power of 130 W with a whopping boost clock of 1410 MHz!

Looking further into the AORUS 15 XE4, you’ll find a stunning 15.6″ Thin Bezel QHD (2560×1440) IPS-level Anti-glare Display with 165Hz refresh rate – perfect for those crystal-clear gaming experiences or binge-watching your favorite Netflix series.

This model comes with a solid built-in storage of 1TB NVMe SSD, but if you find yourself needing more capacity – no worries! This laptop allows for an upgrade up to two additional DDR slots, which maxes out at 64 GB.

In terms of connectivity, the AORUS offers plenty, including one Thunderbolt port, one HDMI port, two USB ports (one Type-C), as well as others such as RJ45 and DC-in ports, ensuring all your needs are met. Let’s not forget about its top-notch audio quality delivered by two built-in speakers featuring DTS X Ultra Audio technology.

Weighing just over five pounds, it’s light enough to carry around yet heavy enough to establish itself as a robust gaming system.

As someone passionate about gaming rendezvous – I found that this laptop does not disappoint in any way! AAA games like God of War and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order were running at an impressive 80-90 FPS at high settings, quite an experience, I must add.

Even during intense gaming sessions, the system does a commendable job of keeping cool, although the noise from the fans might be a minor distraction.

My concern was with the battery power. It lasts less than two hours when running on battery – not something catastrophic, but something to keep in mind if you’re used to unplugged computing. Nonetheless, for gaming purposes, it’s always better to stay plugged in.

Our Verdict

Despite its impressive specs and performance, some users have reported issues with the webcam and its stability after the Windows 11 update. I had no such problems, but it’s worth mentioning these findings in case they might be deal breakers for some potential buyers.

Bottom line – GIGABYTE AORUS 15 XE4 is a great gaming laptop that delivers top-notch performance and an immersive experience. However, there might be a few bumps along the way if you’re unlucky with your specific unit!

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Powerful CPU and GPU
  • High refresh rate display
  • Good amount of storage
  • Upgradable components
CONS

  • Weak Battery Life
  • Noisy Fans
  • Some user reported issues with webcam and Windows update

4. MSI Summit E16

Best i7 Laptop With QHD Display

MSI Summit E16

Screen: 16” QHD+ (2560 x 1600), 16:10, 165Hz Touch Screen Display and MSI Pen | CPU: Intel’s 12th Gen i7-1260P processor | Graphics:  NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU (4 GB GDDR6 dedicated) | RAM: 16GB LPDDR5 | Storage: 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD | Ports: 2x Thunderbolt 4 with Type-C (USB / DP / Thunderbolt) with PD charging, 2x Type-A USB3.2 Gen2, 1x Micro SD Card Reader (UHS III), 1x (4K @ 60Hz) HDMI | Speaker: ‎2x 2W Speaker | Weight: 5.04 pounds

Between you and me, the MSI Summit E16 is an impressive investment if you’re in the hunt for a powerhouse laptop. The looks will catch your eye right off the bat. It has this professional aesthetic that strikes a balance between function and style, striking just the right chord for me.

This beauty features a 16″ QHD+ (2560 x 1600), 16:10, 165Hz Touch Screen Display that delivers stunning visuals. For someone like myself, who spends long hours streaming, gaming, or working with graphics-intensive applications, it’s a dream!

But what would a vibrant display be without equally passionate color reproduction? Well, with the MSI Summit E16, that was never an issue – thanks to its screen’s 100% DCI-P3 coverage.

Inside this elegant shell sits an Intel’s 12th Gen i7-1260P Processor with 12 Cores and 16 Threads. Now, I’ve powered through demanding tasks on laptops before – be it running virtual machines or video edits – but doing such tasks on the MSI Summit E16 took that experience to another level.

With both Performance Cores and Efficient Cores geared to offer peak performance at different workloads, multitasking is buttery smooth! Coupled with the powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU, gaming is an exhilarating experience indeed.

On board is a plentiful storage room of up to 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and (drumroll) a massive 16GB LPDDR5 RAM at disposal for swift operation and fast response times.

A welcome extra is the MSI Pen, which expands your creative boundaries as you intuitively navigate on a touchscreen interface. I found myself creating simple doodles one moment and signing PDF documents seamlessly the next – all thanks to this useful addition.

Even roses come with thorns. A bothersome aspect that surfaced during my use was how this laptop heats up, especially when running on high performance. And oh boy, let me tell you, those fans can be quite loud! It reached a point where the laptop switched off during my project work.

If only I had kept the original carton! Unfortunately, it’s too late for me to return now. A heavy sigh escapes as I reflect again on the weight of the device – 7.04 pounds is not exactly feather-light.

Our Verdict

So, the MSI Summit E16 shows great promise with its specs and performance, but it could do with taming tigers (fans) and a slight weight loss!

Pros And Cons

Pros
  • Vibrant Display
  • Impressive Performance
  • 100% DCI-P3 color gamut
CONS
  • Runs hot
  • Quite heavy

5. MSI Creator 15

Best i7 Laptop With 4K Display

MSI Creator 15

Screen: 15.6″ UHD OLED 4K 3840 x 2160 Thin Bezel, 100% DCI-P3 | CPU: Intel Core i7-11800H 2.4 – 4.6GHz | Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU 6G GDDR6 | RAM: 16GB (8G*2) DDR4 3200MHz | Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD | Ports: 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C w/ DP, 3 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 1 x Thunderbolt 4, 1 x HDMI (4K@120Hz / 8K@60Hz), 1 x RJ-45 (2.5Gbps), 1 x Headphone/Microphone Combo Jack (Hi-Res Audio) | Speaker: Speakers 2W x 2 Duo Wave Speaker Design | Weight: 4.62 Pounds

My journey with the MSI Creator 15 has been a remarkable one. This laptop has proven to be not only an efficient device but also extremely reliable for my photography business.

The first thing I noticed about the MSI Creator 15 was its phenomenal screen display. With a UHD OLED 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), images are stunningly vibrant, sharp and detailed. The thin bezel enhances the overall viewing experience, making photo editing a delight.

Equipped with an Intel Core i7-11800H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, the laptop delivers smooth performance even when tasked with hefty jobs like photo editing on Adobe software.

The processor and GPU work in harmony to handle the load effectively. Initially, I struggled with screen flickers, which were later traced back to a faulty driver for the graphics card. After updating it, everything ran smoothly.

However, it’s important to note that under heavy workload, this laptop can get really hot. But given that it comes with an efficient cooling system that employs fans and heat pipes to dissipate the heat quickly away from chipsets, this isn’t much of a bother.

Battery life is impressive for light tasks such as checking emails or uploading photos – perfect for when I’m on the go or working remotely.

It comes with 16GB RAM, which may seem paltry given how high-performing this laptop is, but keep in mind you have an option of expanding your memory up to 64GB if you need more room for storage.

The same applies to its built-in storage space, starting at 512GB NVMe SSD – expandable if you need more space.

It’s on the heavier side, weighing in at around four pounds, but given its performance capabilities – it’s not entirely a turn-off. This is just something to keep in mind when considering portability.

The one thing that I found somewhat lacking was the laptop’s ability to handle gaming tasks. Simple games like Roblox proved to be a challenge – frequent frame drops and lag made it virtually unplayable. This was disappointing, given the robust hardware specs this laptop boasts of.

But that wasn’t the only software issue I encountered – opening Adobe Photoshop led to an errant GPU warning, which resulted in Photoshop failing to start up on this device.

Our Verdict

There’s more to love about this powerhouse of a laptop compared to its downsides. If you’re using it primarily for tasks like photo editing or general work tasks and not necessarily gaming, the MSI Creator 15 gives you great performance and display quality for your money.

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Excellent display
  • Great performance with photo editing
  • Good battery life for light tasks
CONS

  • Struggles with gaming tasks
  • Potential software compatibility issues.

6. ASUS ROG Flow Z13

Best i7 Converted Notebook

ASUS ROG Flow Z13

Screen: 13.4” FHD+ (1920×1200) 120Hz 16:10 IPS Type Pantone Validated Touchscreen Display | CPU: Latest 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H Processor | Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB GDDR6 | RAM: 16GB LPDDR5 | Storage: 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD | Ports: 2x Thunderbolt 4 with Type-C (USB / DP / Thunderbolt) with PD charging, 2x Type-A USB3.2 Gen2, 1x Micro SD Card Reader (UHS III), 1x (4K @ 60Hz) HDMI | Speaker:   ‎2x 2W Speaker | Weight: ‎‎2.6 pounds

Over the years, I’ve used multiple laptops. Some are good, others not so much. But today, I’ll be talking about a device that raised my expectations to skyscraper heights – the ASUS ROG Flow Z13.

This beast of a machine boasts a 13.4″ FHD+ Touchscreen Display that is Pantone-validated and offers a refresh rate of 120Hz, ensuring every frame rendered is fluidly vivid. Under the hood lies the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H Processor with 14 cores (6 P-cores and 8 E-cores), capable of reaching pulse-pounding speeds up to 4.7 GHz.

The graphics department encompasses an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU equipped with 4GB GDDR6 memory. Are you saddened by choppy videography or lagging games? This graphics card will surely change your perspective! I had smooth gaming sessions running Diablo Immortal and Dark Alliance on this machine.

When it comes to storing all my essential files and hoarding numerous games, thanks to its hefty onboard space of 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage – size really does matter when we’re speaking SSD.

With such powerful graphics and processing capabilities, you’d assume the laptop would weigh as much as a spacecraft! Surprisingly not! With all its muscle contained within an impressively compact body weighing just ‎8.6 pounds.

As someone constantly on the move for work and who loves gaming in free moments in between meetings or flights, the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 has become an ideal partner for me.

Its robust performance, coupled with seamless multitasking capabilities due to its massive operative memory of 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, ensures that whether it’s video editing or rendering life-like gaming environments – everything runs as smoothly as silk.

Yes, there are a few areas for improvement with this product. For instance, adding 4G/LTE capability certainly would have been the cherry on top, and providing a brand-new device with no previous user installed is definitely a must.

Out Verdict

ASUS ROG Flow Z13, in my opinion, stands out the most among i7 laptops due to its outstanding specs, excellent performance, and compatibility for gaming and work-related tasks alike.

The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 offers you performance-grade specifications in a compact body, making it perfect for professionals constantly on the go yet with an avid inner gamer inside them. However, it’s always suggested to verify product details during purchase to avoid any inconvenience.

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Powerful specs
  • Excellent for gaming and multi-tasking
  • Compact and surprisingly lightweight for its muscle
CONS

  • Keyboard Not Durable
  • Previous user installation issues were reported

7. LG Gram 17Z90P

Best i7 Lightweight Laptop

LG Gram 17Z90P

Screen: 17″ WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS LCD, with DCI-P3 | CPU: Intel core i7-1165G7 Processor | Graphics: Intel Xe Graphics | RAM: 16GB LPDDR4X 4266mhz RAM | Storage: 2TB (2 x 1TB) PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD | Ports: Two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, two USB-A 3.2 ports, a full-size HDMI port, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack | Speaker:Speakers 2W x 2Stereo speakers | Weight: ‎2.98 pounds

Welcome to another exhilarating chapter of my laptop journey. This time, the spotlight is on the LG Gram 17Z90P, a high-performance laptop with a price tag of $1,253. This beast packs a whole lot of punch and comes out strong as one of my top recommendations in the i7 gamut.

First impressions? Strong and striking! With a screen measuring a whopping 17″ WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS LCD, I was immediately drawn to its vibrant colors and high resolution.

The creators were not joking when they said it boasts DCI-P3 99% color expression – the visuals are stunning.

The LG Gram is driven by an Intel core i7-1165G7 Processor along with Intel Xe Graphics, providing swift operation for any app you throw at it.

It comes loaded with a hefty 16GB LPDDR4X 4266mhz RAM and 2TB (yes, you read that right…2 terabytes!) worth of PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD storage. No matter what monstrous workload you have – this machine has your back covered!

When it comes to connectivity, the LG Gram covers most bases, offering two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, along with two USB-A 3.2 ports and a full-size HDMI port for all your needs.

It also has a microSD card reader which came in handy for me when transferring files from my camera.

An interesting feature I found was the weight, or shall I say lack thereof, clocking in at just ‎2.98 pounds.

Personally, having carried around laptops that feel like dumbbells extensively in school days, believe me when I say this feature makes all the difference in comfort on those extended coffee shop work sessions.

The LG Gram is furnished with two 2W x 2 stereo speakers. It was here that I found the audio to be slightly underwhelming. The sound quality, although decent, did not quite match up to the high bar set by other features of the laptop. However, for most users, it should do the job just fine.

Now onto a slight hiccup I experienced. After starting the machine and setting it up, despite declining offers for additional software installation, I found some unwelcomed guests on my system that refused to leave – namely McAfee ransomware and Edge web browser.

Attempting to remove them took a whopping 4 hours of my time, so you may want to prepare yourself for this when setting up your computer.

Our Verdict

Despite minor issues with audio quality and stubborn pre-installed software, I would still wholeheartedly recommend the LG Gram 17Z90P as a fantastic i7 laptop choice.

With excellent visuals, smooth operation thanks to its Core i7 engine, and a truly lightweight feel, this laptop outshines many competitors in its class.

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Impressive performance specs
  • Vibrant and large display screen
CONS
  • Mediocre sound quality
  • Pre-installed software difficult to uninstall

8. Acer Predator Helios 300

Best i7 Laptop For Bottlenecking

Acer Predator Helios 300

Screen: 15.6″ Full HD (1920 x 1080) LED-backlit IPS Display | CPU: Intel Core i7-11800H 8-Core Processor (Up to 5.0GHz) | Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6 | RAM: 16GB DDR4 2933MHz | Storage: 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD| Ports: 1 x USB Type-C, 1 HDMI x 2.1, 1 USB 3.1 (Gen 2), 2 x USB 3.1 (Gen 1), 500GB/s Ethernet RJ-45 | Speaker: 2 x 4W speakers | Weight: 5.06 Pounds

Ever since I laid my hands on the Acer Predator Helios 300, I’ve been thoroughly impressed by its performance, design, and features. With a price tag of around $1,139, this i7 laptop offers an exemplary digital experience that speaks volumes for its value.

The Helios 300 boasts superb specs that cater perfectly to the tech-savvy around the globe. The heart of this beast is the Intel Core i7-11800H 8-Core Processor that runs at a speed of up to 5.0GHz. Complementing this powerful processor is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX3060 graphics card with an impressive 6GB GDDR6 capacity.

What caught my eye initially was the large and vivid 15.6″ Full HD widescreen LED-backlit IPS display with a commendable refresh rate of 144Hz and overdrive response time of just 3ms, further heightening its bright (300nit) visuals.

This powerhouse offers dual-channel 16GB DDR4 2933MHz RAM along with a high-speed storage capacity – hosting a whopping 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. The ample storage ensures swift load times and buttery smooth transitions between applications.

The Acer Predator Helios provides versatile connectivity options like a USB Type-C port, HDMI x2.1 port, USB3.1 (Gen2) and USB3.1 (Gen1) ports along with Ethernet RJ-45 that grants blazing fast internet connectivity up to speeds of an astonishingly quick500Gb/s.

In terms of audio experience, it is amplified by two formidable yet compact-sized 4W speakers.

When unpacked, the Helios carries a weight of approximately just over five pounds, which doesn’t feel heftier than other similar-sized quintessential laptops in the market today.

Now, onto my personal experience – To be honest, I was initially apprehensive about ordering this due to some reviews discussing issues concerning heating temperatures. However, after receiving it and testing it out, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it maintained cool and healthy temperature levels, even under full-load modes.

Some opting for this machine might have occasional hiccups while running it under maximum capacity; this could be due to many reasons like bad thermal paste application, faulty fans, or bad ventilation.

But most importantly, these issues can be mitigated with the usage of a good laptop cooler. I tested games on High/Max settings like Elden Ring and Warzone without any apparent hitches!

Despite my largely positive experience, the transition to Windows 11 did introduce an unfortunate series of crashes and system instability during gaming sessions. However, my experience with other professional workloads remained smooth despite this hiccup.

Our Verdict

In summary, the Acer Predator Helios 300 is a perfectly capable and largely competent laptop that scores highly on performance and features while satisfying basic aesthetic needs at a reasonable price point.

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Great overall performance
  • FHD Display with high Refresh rate
  • Plenty storage capacity
  • Versatile connectivity options
CONS

  • Overheating issues under full-load conditions
  • Some instability after upgrading to Windows 11

9. ASUS ZenBook Flip

Best i7 Laptop With OLED Display

ASUS ZenBook Flip

Screen: 13.3 inches OLED Full HD 4-way Nano Edge bezel display | CPU: Intel Core i7-1165G7 Quad Core Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.70 GHz, with IPU) | Graphics: Intel Iris Xe Graphics | RAM: 16GB LPDDR4X RAM | Storage: 512 GB PCIe SSD | Ports: 1 X USB Type A, 1 X Headphone/Speaker/Line-Out Jack, 1 X USB TYPE-C, 1 X HDMI | Speaker: 2 x 4W speakers | Weight: 2.8 pounds

As a gaming enthusiast, I was excited to give the ASUS ZenBook Flip a try. While it does slightly cross our budget at $769, the laptop holds its own in terms of performance and features, especially for less demanding games or gamers who can sacrifice on some settings.

When I first laid my hands on this compact beauty, I was taken aback by its 13.3-inch OLED Full HD 4-way Nano Edge bezel display. The visuals were crisp and vibrant, making my gaming environment distinctly immersive.

Powering up the laptop is an Intel Core i7-1165G7 Quad Core Processor with a clock speed that can ramp up to 4.70 GHz along with Intel Iris Xe Graphics – this duo had my games running smoothly without any noticeable lag.

Now let’s talk about what truly makes the ZenBook Flip stand out – its spacious 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512 GB PCIe SSD storage. This robust combination ensures you have ample headspace for simultaneous heavy tasks and rapid game loading times.

The lack of bulky hardware keeps the laptop lightweight at just 2.8 pounds – easily portable for on-the-go gaming sessions or even quick coffee shop runs.

I also found a stylus included with the laptop – an impressive add-on feature that comes perfectly handy for times when I’m not saving virtual worlds but doodling or jotting down notes!

Despite all these positives, the ZenBook Flip does have a few downsides that users should be aware of:

First, the integrated webcam leaves much to be desired in terms of clarity and resolution – you might want to opt for an external one if high-quality video calls are integral to your routine.

Secondly, while it didn’t bother me too much since my usage was largely home-based, some users might find the battery life somewhat limiting if they plan to use it away from power outlets for extended periods.

There seems to be an issue with the noise-canceling AI feature while using Zoom – I ended up disabling it.

Sadly, I have also heard of cases where the laptop presented hardware failure or overheating issues just a week in. Though not a personal experience, it’s a point of concern that prospective buyers should keep in mind.

Our Verdict

In conclusion, on my hands-on experience and user reviews, I would say that the ASUS ZenBook Flip is a catch for its price. It delivers solid performance, has ample storage capacities, and features a sleek design handy for mobility.

If flawless video calls and long battery life factor prominently into your laptop requisites, you might want to give this one a second thought. And as always – let’s cross our fingers for no technical issues!

10. SAMSUNG Galaxy Book2 Pro

Best i7 Lightweight Laptop With AMOLED Display

SAMSUNG Galaxy Book2 Pro

Screen: 15.6″ FHD AMOLED Display, DCI-P3 | CPU: 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P Processor | Graphics: Intel Iris Xe Graphics | RAM: 16GB LPDDR4x RAM | Storage: 512GB Solid State Drive | Ports: 1 x HDMI, 1 x Thunderbolt 4, 1 x USB Type-C, 1 x USB 3.2, 1 x MicroSD Multi-media Card Reader, 1 x Headphone-out/Mic-in Combo | Speaker: AKG Stereo Speakers (Max 4 W x 2), Dolby Atmos | Weight: ‎2.45 Pounds

I’m super excited to share my thoughts about number ten on the list, the SAMSUNG Galaxy Book2 Pro. This laptop, priced at $1,110, is a touch over our proposed budget, but given its top-tier specs and great user reviews, it’s too good not to mention.

Starting with the visuals, this little beast boasts a 15.6″ FHD AMOLED Display and supports DCI-P3. Its vibrant colors and detailed imagery blew me away. It’s smaller than the average laptops I’ve used in the past, which made it much easier to carry around; it’s a great companion for people who are always on the go.

Under the hood, we have a substantial power source – the 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1260P Processor (base frequency of 2.1 GHz can go up to 4.6GHz!). This, combined with Intel Iris Xe Graphics and an impressive 16GB LPDDR4x RAM, delivers consistently smooth performance even during demanding times.

And let’s talk about storage! The SAMSUNG Galaxy Book2 Pro comes with a super speedy 512GB Solid State Drive (PCI-e). Speaking from experience, you won’t need to worry about running out of space any time soon, and your apps will load in no time.

The plethora of ports on this laptop adds significant value. It has everything, including HDMI, Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-C, and USB 3.2 plus a MicroSD card reader and headphone/mic input.

From easily connecting your external displays or charging devices to transferring data at a lightning pace – this machine has got you covered.

In terms of sound system, it doesn’t disappoint with AKG Stereo Speakers featuring Dolby Atmos technology that leaves you immersed in high-quality audio while gaming or streaming online content.

Now to address what many users have experienced negatively: I did notice that over time, there were some physical issues with the laptop. The hinge started making clicking sounds, which later led to a slight misalignment when closing the laptop, and eventually, the casing came off at the bottom near one of the hinges.

This might have been caused by shipping damage or wear and tear from usage, but it did cloud over the otherwise amazing features of this laptop.

Our Verdict

The SAMSUNG Galaxy Book2 Pro is an excellent product with top-notch specs overshadowed by some physical build quality issues. However, if treated with a little care, this can be a reliable partner for your gaming adventures.

Pros And Cons

Things To Consider In A Laptop With i7 Processor

You have to consider certain aspects before purchasing your best i7 laptop.

CPU

The CPU handles all the processing in your laptop, so it’s essential to get one that can do various tasks. The i7 series CPUs from Intel are designed for performance and power efficiency compared to their predecessors (the Core i5 series).

This means you will be able to multitask while still getting impressive speeds without sacrificing battery life. The more cores a CPU has, the better it will be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

GPU

The GPU is responsible for processing and rendering images. If you like playing games or editing your photos, then this component will make a big difference in the quality of what you see on screen.

If you want to do more without using your laptop’s battery, you will need a high-quality GPU that works in tandem with the iGPU (integrated graphics) when possible. In order for this feature to work correctly, it needs enough memory dedicated specifically for its usage and a processor capable of handling these workloads without slowing down.

The RTX 3050 from Nvidia is a great option if you’re looking for a powerful GPU that can handle anything you throw at it. The 30-series cards are also great for creative professionals who need to edit videos or render graphics.

When it comes to memory, more is always better. If you can afford it, we recommend getting at least 16GB of RAM. This will ensure that your laptop can handle anything you throw at it without any lag or slowdown.

RAM

The RAM is where your computer stores the information it’s currently working on, like browser tabs and documents you are editing. More RAM allows for more of these tasks to be stored in memory, which can speed up your computer’s performance when juggling multiple programs. The laptop should have at least 16GB of RAM, but 32GB is ideal for power users. You can also upgrade the RAM later if you need more power.

Also, the RAM type you choose will affect what apps and processes run smoothly on your laptop if you want to do more with less lag or slowdown while multitasking, consider getting DDR4-type memory modules for better overall system stability in the long run.

Storage

The storage is where you keep all your files, photos, music, and movies. If you have a lot of stuff, then you’ll need a large-capacity hard drive or solid-state drive (SSD). Most laptops come with both types of storage these days, so you can choose which one is best for your needs.

We recommend at least 512GB of storage for your primary drive, with at least 256GB if you can afford it. You can also get an external hard drive or use cloud storage services like iCloud or Google Drive to supplement your onboard storage.

SSDs are faster than regular hard drives but more expensive and smaller in storage capacity, whereas HDDs have a more significant amount of space.

Display

The display is one of the most important aspects of any laptop because it’s what you’ll be looking at all the time. If you’re going to be doing a lot of photos or video editing, then you’ll need a large display with high resolution for the best image quality.

Most laptops these days have 1080p displays, but if you can afford it, we recommend getting a laptop with a 1440p or even a UHD (ultra-high-definition) display. This will make a big difference in the quality of what you see on screen, especially if you’re working with high-resolution images or videos.

You should also consider the size of the display when choosing a laptop. If you want a portable laptop that you can take with you everywhere, then you’ll need a smaller display. But if you’re looking for a desktop replacement, then you can go with a larger screen.

The refresh rate is another important aspect of the display. A higher refresh rate means that the image on your screen will update more quickly, which is great for gaming or watching videos. Most laptop displays have a 120Hz refresh rate, but if you can find one with a higher refresh rate, it will be worth the investment.

Ports

The ports are the physical connection points on your laptop for things like USB devices, HDMI cables, and SD cards. Most laptops come with a variety of ports these days, but it’s still important to make sure that the one you’re getting has the right ports for your needs.

For example, if you want to connect to an external monitor, you’ll need an HDMI port. And if you want to transfer photos from your camera, you’ll need an SD card reader. USB-C is the latest and greatest type of port, and it’s slowly becoming the standard on new laptops.

If you can find a laptop with USB-C ports, it will be future-proof and offer the fastest transfer speeds. The Thunderbolt port is also becoming more common and is even faster than USB-C.

Wireless Connectivity

The wireless connectivity of your laptop is important because it allows you to connect to the internet, transfer files, and stream music without wires. Most laptops come with Wi-Fi these days, but you should also make sure that the one you’re getting has the latest and greatest wireless standard.

The current standard is 802.11ac, but the newer 802.11ax is more future-proof and offers better performance. If you can find a laptop with 802.11ax, it will be worth the investment. The Bluetooth standard is also important if you want to connect wireless peripherals like keyboards and mice.

Battery life

The battery life is the amount of time that your laptop can run on a single charge. If you’re looking for a laptop that you can take with you on the go, then you’ll need one with good battery life. Generally, we recommend getting a laptop with at least six hours of battery life.

But if you’re looking for a desktop replacement, then battery life isn’t as important because you’ll likely be plugged into an outlet most of the time. In that case, you can focus on other aspects like performance and storage.

Conclusion

The best i7 laptops are all high-performance machines. They can handle anything you throw at them and more. They will last you a long time and won’t disappoint.

You can even use them for gaming if that is your thing. This list includes budget options, but we recommend getting something a bit better if you can afford it.

If you’re looking for a laptop to last, then be sure to focus on buying from reputable brands with excellent customer service and warranties in place. We hope our research will help you to find the Perfect i7 machine for all your computing needs.
