Now there’s an even better way to get rid of Snap.com preview pop-ups: a simple rule added to Firefox’s AdBlock Plus Add-on banishes them for good. We previously covered disabling Snap.com’s annoying pop-ups, but the solution required you to visit the Snap.com website and click on a link that sets a cookie. If you ever decided to clear out your cookies, you’d have to return to Snap.com and reset theirs.
Reader Ander from Vancouver wrote to us with an effective method to block Snap.com previews for good:
- Download and install the AdBlock Plus add-on Firefox add-on
- Restart Firefox, then click Tools → AdBlock Plus…
- Add spa.snap.com/* to AdBlock’s set of rules
- Restart Firefox, and never see another Snap.com preview as long as you’re using AdBlock Plus.
Here’s a screenshot of how to add the rule, which worked like a charm:

Thanks, Ander!

while you’re at it you’ll probably want to kill the similarly annoying IntelliTXT ads that are appearing in the middle of news stories these days:

Jonathan Peterson’s suggestion to remove the IntelliTXT ads is also a good one. “vibrantmedia.com” is another culprit.
