Tips for Outdoor Laptop Computing

Using a laptop outsideLaptops afford their owners a certain sense of freedom — instead of being tethered to a desk, you can use your laptop computer on the couch, at the dining room table, and especially outdoors. Those who enjoy spending some time in the sun while getting their work done are all aware of a certain glaring trade-off for the luxury of outdoor computing: sometimes it is damn near impossible to see your laptop’s screen.

Aside from turning off the sun, there are a few tricks you can use to make your computer’s screen easier to see. In “How to Use Your Laptop Outside“, Web Worker Daily presents a few of their own:

  • Wear a brimmed hat.
  • Wear polarized sunglasses.
  • Work under an umbrella (or anywhere else you can find shade).
